The record is done... — Sunday, Dec 2, 2007
All that is left to do is to get it mastered... oh, and released somewhere. We're looking to see who wants to put it out. It took a long time, but it is 10 songs and we're very excited on how it turned out. Stay tuned for news about a label and release dates.

Were still working on the recording... — Monday, Sep 24, 2007
Sometimes things take a LOT longer than you plan...
We're really at the end of this recording project -- at the tail end of mixing. It's about 98.5% done. Really. Between recording and schedule conflicts, its been hard to get this project done and book shows. But as we're almost there, we're starting to book again. Thanks for being patient.

We're recording — Friday, Jul 27, 2007
Its been quiet around here, but not in our home studio. For the last week or so we've been working on recording about 11 tunes. We'll let you know where those recordings are headed. Thus, not too many shows or show plans. But we should be done with the recording in a few weeks, and we'll be booking to play out soon. We've got a show or two coming up, so you can get your fix.

Good Press — Friday, May 11, 2007
Jessica Hopper of the Chicago Tribune had this to say about us in the Friday, May 11th 2007 edition's On The Town section...
Local quartet Days Off is a throwback to the halcyon days of the early '80s when punk rock turned the corner from spitting fury and spiked hair to something blue collar and personal. The debut EP of Days Off, Jamming in the Scene (Make or Break Records), is skronky, muscular and propulsive. The group's lyrics are casually introspective, fluttering with little scenes of everyday life: drinking beers with friends, cruising down the Dan Ryan and questioning history. Singer and guitarist Mike Berg has a wonderfully plain, gruff voice - he earnestly makes do with what he's got. It's endearing and makes clear that Days Off is really about the love of music rather than gunning for a career, which is refreshing and adds to its regular-guy charm.

We're rebuilding the website, and will have some more news up soon. In brief, Days Off has a new, full lineup as of this spring, and we're getting ready to record a full length record this summer. We're booking local and out of town shows for the spring and summer, so if you'd like to see us play, contact us right away.
